This review an attempt not to be one among the high class or not just a drop and come out with criticism.Just tried to be a common and sensitive type on this. Fans had to learn or evolve and just receive work, i.e., be content receiver and not jump on contenders,precisely not getting carried away by the examples(allusions analogy symbolism and metaphors in stories). Ahhhh,its been a while ive been writing especially a movie review because after being devotedly following and cherishing fiction(especially tamil cinema in India) for 20 years, I thought its worth giving up as Alfred Hitchcock ,tamil director Bhimsingh says its after all cinema and they are grossly overpaid and over celebrated including their work. It makes me emotional every time i see this movie.Forrest's being son,lover,friend,husband and father,it summarizes the whole essence of life.The movie is narrated like poem with touch of philosophy.Probably the challenging part(for non Americans atleast) of movie is the reference of American history during Forrest's life.This format is like Garbriel Marquez's novel,one hundred years of solitude.(magical realism). This movie is one of the costliest one made in India,but we cannot expect jurrasic park,titanic or terminator because tamil film industry is more into business pressure rather then creativity.That too superstar Rajini,director Shankar both this celebrities want to safeguard their position rather then trying something new. This movie was adapted from the play,an orthodox brahmin Sundaram retires from his profession,and his emotional reactions,mind set were accurately captured.He faces difficulty in adapting with his sons,daughter dishonesty,indiscipline,besides he is an very honest and strict man.
