ON Awards - Why Aamir Khan refused wax statue of him in London's famous musuem?


Awards and recognition is the topic would like to bring,especially in a award world(society?) is driven by money,politics,power,business and glamor.Gandhi was never awarded Noble prize and so is Tamil poet Bharathiyar.There are famous recognitions like sir title in Britain and their honoring system,which again we could see some pattern.Padma awards,literary awards are again another big mess.In Tamil literary world,things are more worse,Kandhasan and Abdul Rehman was awarded for his prose(both are poets).People like Salinger never got an award.Writer Sujatha,Pudhumaipithan wasn't given any award at all.And again i also admit there are few award given was well deserved.I don't mind wrong people getting award even though its not good,but prefer deserving people to be in.

In film world,you see actors and film people getting doctorate from university,all sorts of response come up.People like Vijaykanth,Vijay,Preity zinta,director Shankar are getting doctorate.Of course actors and film people do hard work,they have talent.But am not sure whether doctorate loose its value,when its more driven by glamor,power,politics,money,instead of merit.When people like sathyajit ray,charlie Chaplin get doctorate from Oxford university,obviously people accept its normal.They call this to honorary doctorate.Sivaji ganesan never won an national award,Nagesh didn't win Padmashree.AB refused doctorate from Australia due suffering of Indians there.Awards are part and parcel of the games,to restore the status they want.W all know that Oscars are well respected,but to get Oscar lobbying is to be done,am not sure how many would be aware of the bribe,laziness,politics.The best actor award in oscar is given for character,but not for their genuine performance,actually the award should be given for casting,not the actor.Think of Indian movies been sent with some raw sub-title translation,it is not on par with their system.To make whole bunch of jury to see itself is a big thing in Oscar selection.Award don't guarantee the quality,but crowns the greed at times.In this world of awards,why did Aamir Khan refused to have wax statue of him,is it out of sheer honesty,instead of refusing greed?May be will ask him if i get an opportunity to(not to get confused -the photo isn't wax statue in London's,its amateur make exhibited in India).

I got into this after tough day in my work and selected this as somewhere I saw some raving review in my facebook feed somewhere in my mobile. Irony that movie which downplays the mobile device got attention by mobile. It's very hard and unfair to write review on culture and language that am not into it. But first time ever I went really went tight on capturing images and reading sub titles due to the natural visual, realistic characters. when the movie started telling about a director and writers block, i thought it's going to be too artistic and would loose empathy as like the movies 71/2(french), marupadiyum, bommalatam, VTV. This is ON JK who lived during -Jiddu Krishnamurti- May 12, 1895 – February 17, 1986 ).He is many's spiritual guru and had not sharing about him to anyone as there are certain beauties which we cant share and also philosophy is a dry subject,where people wont like it. ON Tamil Writer Balakumaran - The man who knew too much on spirituality

  This write-up on writer Balakumar, veteran of tamil fiction credited to have 200 plus book titles. Balakumaran writing got into me when i watched the Tamil movie Gentleman(1993) as a kid. Even though dialogue is small part of movie, managed to take away his name in the movie titles which we hardly care to see. Then i managed to see some of his works in movie and always been great fan like for a hero in the movie.
