ON Tamil Actor smiling lotus (Kamal Haasan) - The Tamil cinemaintellectual-When oscar?

His real  name is Parthasarathy and known to be Mr.Kamal Hassan(Nov7-1954)-this is for him as he is going to complete his 50 years of cinema career by today(first movie release Aug12-1960).I am not sure a writers 50 years of publishing would be remembered,recognised and followed as much for an actor. Film acting is just a job like anything else,yet tamil speaking cinema audience have always adored and celebrated the tamil film actors emotionally and i am no different. His first movie as an child actor released today.Dropping out from school on eight grade(parallel had experience as theater actor),he struggled early as a dance assistant(he's indeed a trained bharatanatyam dancer) and with few supporting roles on malayalam and tamil cinema.Another famous actor Gemini Ganesan who could be fondly remembered as gentle man,introduced him to K.Balachander and helped to launch his new path in film acting career.His breakthrough came from the film director K.Balachander's movies(has acted in K.Balachander 40 movies approximately).Thanks to the great directors who cast him which bore him many award winning roles.He has 2 elder brothers and a sister(his sisters son appeared in a cameo role in the movie Hey Ram).His brother Charu Haasan remembers him on his early life as a keen follower of books and variety of cinema.

His father(Mr.Srinivasan, a Indian freedom fighter and Lawyer) asked him when Oscar,when the national award reached him in 1982.A different man he himself and connoisseur of arts ,he and his wife. In-fact he named his children with surname Haasan(and the name Kamal) ,is in remembrance of his Islamic prison mate during Indias pre independence fight against British (biographies after thought)-but the real seems to be a sanskrit name which means smiling lotus.Hes a thinker,who is attracted by atheism and communism(follower of a revolutionist E.V.Ramasamy(Sep17-1879-Dec24-1973).He was a directors actor until the movie "Nayakan",after which many of his roles and stories were inspired from Hollywood movies.He never gives up the theme of religion and caste ,which is an integral mix in emotion of people of India.A relevant,valid theme indeed.Especially he should be appreciated for the perfection he depicts in his roles in terms of makeup,change of appearance according to roles.

He has tried his hands in magic,writing,direction,makeup,singing,dance,poetry,drawing also.His cinema output is the reflection of his knowledge,such a diverse work he has produced. His honesty,uncompromisal approach on his craft,hardwork,single minded focus,diverse knowledge,curiosity on innovation are his notable qualities.Most of his film works are his version orf truth or art-there is always his stamping like Charlie Chaplins which is the plus and minus of his works because our version of knowledge is always limited but his artistic talent comes in there with deep,philosophical,truthful truths.He constantly quotes that "Content is King",if it is so,he's king of tamil cinema.He's also an ardent fan of Nagesh,Sivaji Ganesan.(Marlon Brando,Dustin Hoffman,Alpacino also).

He borrowed intellectualism from Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan(reading books),sercasm,seriousness and eccentricity from Nagesh(open tomulti culture and people),straigh forwardness,idealism from actor Sivaji, rationalism from his elder brother Charuhaasan.He was criticized for copying hollywood movies and characters which is inevitable in tamil movies as screenwriting lacks professionalism here.The source of movies are like this>Facts in journals or real>European stories>American stories>Indian stories,so no complaints.Another criticism is that his intellectualism, idealism , irrelevant info is of privilege of his background and pampered childhood and life. which i dont agree at all as he aims only good work and perfection in maximum.He very well informed in Jan14-2003 through his movie anbe on tsunami which affected us on dec-26 2004,a visionary indeed.He used to mention that "Dasvatharam is Thoalvi adaintha Anbe Sivam and anbe sivam is Vetri petra Dasavatharam".The same way we can say Kamal is Vetri petra Sivaji Ganesan.
