When Vincent poovaraghan says to villan during climx,"We have only one home,our world",this one thought is worth enough to work hard for 2years and make a movie like dasavatharam for kamal.Putting aside artifical makeup,no strong lengthy characterisation out of 10 characters,no proper logical story,inserted headache screenplay and pushing hard 10characters in a small simple story,its a good attempt.My impulse to share about actor kamalhaasans movie is unresistable.I cannot call this article to be movie review,rather reaction.Reaction for that which we know and like is almost perfected.So i thought of sharing this reaction. Kamalhaasan is screenwriter for all of his movies right from Aboorva sokadharargal(1989) till date.50% of his movies released after aboorva sokadharargal,were hit and 50% were flop.So,screenwriting is the secret of his success as well as failure.So he might have almost mastered all theories for his screenwriting through his high contacts,source and exposure.To act in content he agrees makes him perform well.So he sticks the basic screenplay formula and compromised to have some comercial elements,Wife,sister,mother sentiment,but told sensibly with solid situation.I would say this movie is similar to MGR's ulagam sutram valibhan released in early 1970.No experiment or innovation in basic rules of commercial cinema.But Kamal provides his style of making movies,shows his knowledge,talent,innovation with commercial elements as fence.I also honestly accept that it didnt match the expectation it created for the amount money and energy spent on this movie,i mean movie is not ground breaking and extremely new,mind blowing as expected by critics and cinemas diehard fans. The story structure and camera movement remains hollywood movie Magnolia,but i dont like to mention the other sources of this movie,as we know we need source for making any movie,and tamil cinema which lacks proper education and professsional approach.so kamal has to rely on these kind of sources obviosuly.So,stop blaming kamal for copying.The plot outline is new like any other kamals film,but it is very simple and short which cannot bear the weight of 3hour screenplay and 10characters.But still manages to to excite and entertain in certain parts,putting aside the screenplay confussion and silly twists. Below is my rating of kamals acting performance voice dubbing-120/100 Body language-85/100 Expression-70/100(does not play vital role in modern cinema,its applicable for sivaji days i guess) Makeup-70/100(Not up to the mark for kamals standard,little artificial) I would rate poovaraghan and krishnaveni as outstanding performance.Avatar singh and Govind are the worst performer.Instead of stealing from Hollwwood movie,his acting performance was based on observation and imagination,which is great stuff from kamal.Here comes the main part,voice performance was awesome.Kamal is world class in it.The kind of variety and expression,accent delivered by kamal is unbelievable.I also like asins performance,its very professional. The content lacks clarity(when rangarajan nambi tells something about ramanujam,who is supposed to be the founder of iyengar caste).But the success of story is that all 10 characters has right name,identificationn ,crisis and climax.Thats the secret of success of this movie,sticking to the basic rules of story telling.But im not dare enough to criticise more on the content,certainly its very high for tamil cinema standards.Kamal and his team has paid great attention to details and kamal who proclaims himself to be a literary figure and intellectual has done his best.story is god fearing,he says sami kadhai in start and in climax idol comes and says lord has saved the world??,but he talks atheism in dailagues. Idol part in first 15minutes is unrelated,none is dare to say that as many would justify with chaos theory.we can justify by saying chaos theory and idol causing tsunamin stuf,never mind kamal tells in his story whatever he knows and likes,so not necessary whatever he tells must be related to story.So,the Final conclusion is KAMAL=bharathiyar plus chaplin!!!
