I am not a great admirer of non linear edited movie,because i have watched some movies like The Killing (1956),Pulp fiction (1994),Memento(2000)and some which didn't appeal to me so much.But 21grams movie team did the trick and made us enjoy the non linear story telling.Especially it was a treat when i watched it second time and fun to correlate the scenes in my mind.The writer and director of this movie are from Mexican film industry,who made this hollywood movie after well received,appreciated Mexican movie "Amorres Perros". I always believed Writing a movie has 60% importance and 40% importance to director because he takes care of camera position and correcting,extracting,coordinating of writing,acting,costumes,set design,musiccomposition,cinematography,casting,Makeup.Primarily the content of story is what we are going to say or communicate to audience,that is what they will go out when they leave movie theatre.So,the writer of a movie always deserves special mention because he has already directed a movie in thought.Probably no physical work,rather thought work but there lies the talent of creativity,combination of imagination,philosphical and visual thinking.Coming back to the movie,the writer of this movie Guillermo Arriago has done great work,the quality of work reminds of literature. The story is about three characters-a Mathametics Professor living unhappy with bad health and self centred wife,a housewife who is recovering from drug addiction,a deeply religious man who has come out of con activities.The acting team Sean Penn,Naomi watts,Benicio Del Terro have done awesome performance,especially i became fan of Sean Penn and there is perfection in his acting which reminded me of Alpacino.I felt that this movie communicated about loneliness,loss,struggule in the life.Especially the visuals and music make us to connect with the story deeply.The movie ends with the narration of senn penn about 21 grams where he repeats the words "How much is gained" would leave us stunned that we have watched good sensible philosophical movie.Good creative work by Director Alenjandro Gonzalez and his team.
